Dr. Michael Shoshani is a clinical psychologist and a training and supervisingpsychoanalyst. Shoshani is the founding chair, a faculty member and supervisor ofThe Tel Aviv Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis. He is also a faculty memberand supervisor at the New York University Postdoc Program for Psychoanalysis andPsychotherapy. For over two decades, Shoshani has treated patients, taught studentsand supervised clinicians. He has lectured and run workshops for many groups ofprofessionals in Israel, the U.S., Turkey, and Romania. Throughout his career, he haswritten numerous articles on contemporary therapeutic techniques and the treating andunderstanding of extremely challenging patients. In recent years, Shoshani has beeninterested in interdisciplinary studies, trying to bridge and weave together thedifferent narratives of psychoanalysis, literature and philosophy. In addition, Shoshanihas shown great interest in the particular theory and technique of perversions and haswritten numerous articles regarding these subjects. In 2009, Michael Shoshani’s firstbook, “Dare To Be Human: A Contemporary Psychoanalytic Journey”, waspublished by Routledge. In 2021, Michael and his wife Batya published another book"Timeless Grandiosity and Eroticized Contempt- Technical Challenges posed bycases of narcissism and perversion," published by Pheonix. This book is beingtranslated into Romanian, Polish, Slovak, French and Turkish. Michael practicespsychoanalysis and psychotherapy in Tel Aviv.
