I am committed to creating a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, supportive and is based on mutual respect. In sessions, my general style is to be interactive and direct, but I also emphasize very close listening. The goals of my interventions vary depending on your evolving struggles, needs and strengths. Together, we work to understand the multi-layered nature of the problem(s) and to find ways to improve your life and alleviate distress.
I treat clients with a range of difficulties such as depression and anxiety (postpartum as well), PTSD, grief/loss, interpersonal problems, personality issues. Special interests include parenting, trauma and immigration issues. I enjoy working with people from different cultures/countries with a focus on their struggles with transitions/loss/ acculturation.
I grew up in the US and in Europe and speak fluent French and German. My undergraduate degree was earned at Columbia College and I hold a P.h.D. in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University.
