I am a Turkish born and US trained clinical psychologist. I also speak conversational Arabic. I work with a diverse group of individuals who present with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety and interpersonal/familial difficulties, as well as with more serious psychiatric disorders. I work in several modalities, including couples and individuals, treating individuals in various stages of life. I have had experience working in hospital settings as well as university counseling centers.
I also work with individuals from multicultural/multiracial backgrounds and with individuals struggling with substance misuse. With my clients who struggle with addictions, I follow a harm reduction model or an abstinence based approach to treatment depending on their clinical needs. I had been the clinical director of an outpatient addictions program.
I work to help my clients realize their strengths so they can use them for problem solving and personal growth. Through psychotherapy I hope to help my clients develop compassion for their struggles as they work to understand and alter their impeding habits and patterns.
