More that 30 years as Chief Psychologist at JBFCS afforded me rich opportunities to practice and learn in a community-based agency serving a diverse range of New York’s most vulnerable children, adolescents and families. My own approach to work with clients is informed by a developmental and family/community systems perspective and, most importantly, a commitment to an interpersonal, relationship-based understanding of the individual’s social context. I have been a clinical consultant at the NYU Postdoctoral Program for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy since 1991.
My psychotherapy and psychoanalytic practice is primarily with individual adults and adolescents experiencing concerns or difficulties in relationships, work, or school. Inasmuch as raising children raises questions, I also offer consultation to parents about challenges in parenting. Built upon considerable experience in teaching and research with infants and young children, I specialize in consultation to parents of very young children, including parents with special needs children.
