For over 40 years I have worked with children, parents, couples and families in psychoanalyltic psychotherapy. I enjoy consulting with individuals and couples, to hone in on what their issues are, and within our relationship, we figure out what approaches may best help them. I have an expertise in mother-infant interaction, trauma and loss, and family conflicts with adult children.
I completed training in child and adolescent psychotherapy, family systems therapy, and EMDR treatment for trauma. l received my doctorate and my post doc in psychoanalysis at NYU. My varied interests have combined to bring psychoanalytic ideas into the community, and I am privileged to be working in private practice, teaching, supervising, and consulting in programs that offer help to people from all walks of life who are in need.

My diverse practice reflects and serves the needs of my neighborhood. My style of practice is interpersonal/humanistic meaning that I try to take an open minded approach to psychotherapy. The work is an exploration of the nature of relationships and sources of anxiety leading to an understanding of moment-to-moment experience of self and others. This understanding may lead to meaningful change and to the emergence of choices which were not previously considered. I am respectful of individual needs and differences and consider social & cultural influences.
